Scarf project needs help
The “One Warm Scarf” campaign, a year-round project that donates yarn to knitters who make scarves for local homeless people, is requesting yarn and knitters/crocheters to make warm scarves, hats, and booties. Sandy Goldstein of Los Altos acts as the middlewoman, collecting yarn and delivering it to knitters at senior centers and churches in the South Bay.
This year, hundreds of scarves will be sent to migrant workers who work in the fields in Pescadero. The group also anticipates sending a van load to the Apache Indians on an Arizona reservation.
Contributors to the cause come from all over, including the Cupertino Senior Center Knitting Club, Sunnyvale Senior Center Knitting Club, Los Altos Knitting Club, Mountain View Senior Center Knitting Club, Los Altos Knitting Kittens, and the Palo Alto Meetup Knitting Club.
