Box Powers Production of “Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways” Docu-Series

LOS ALTOS, Calif.--()--Box today announced that Roswell films, a division of Roswell Records, and Therapy Content chose Box as the primary platform for approving and collaborating on content in the production of the “Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways” docu-series. The new series chronicles the Foo Fighters’ journey recording their album and drawing inspiration across eight U.S. cities.

Box’s enterprise content collaboration platform enables the secure creation and distribution of media content throughout the entire creative process. For producers Jim Rota and John Ramsay, Box served as a virtual central office. The post-production team was able to preview and manage clips, collaborate with licensers on archival material and obtain approval on series development from director Dave Grohl, while in studio or on the go.

“Box helped us immensely on the show. As we moved from city to city developing this series, Box provided us with a one stop shop for reviewing and collaborating on photos, videos, music and production logistics.” said Rota. “We couldn’t have produced this series without Box. We used it for everything.”

“With Box for Media & Entertainment, companies can take advantage of cloud and mobile technology to transform how creative teams produce and distribute content,” said Aaron Levie co-founder and CEO at Box. “We are thrilled to be working with leading companies like Roswell films, enabling all-new ways to collaborate, share and distribute digital assets and material.”

Box’s simple and secure solution fit naturally into the traditional production workflow. Additional benefits to Roswell films include:

  • One central repository for all production assets, with an intuitive file structure allowing production teams to easily access and archive footage and photos
  • Ability to set time restrictions on accessibility, grant and revoke permissions and monitor downloads to control how content is viewed and shared, ensuring that the right people have access to confidential information

Box makes it easy for 240,000 businesses around the world to share and collaborate across devices. Roswell Films joins a growing list of media and entertainment companies leveraging Box to redefine how they conceive, create and collaborate around award-winning content in the cloud, including Legendary Pictures, Sundance Institute and Discovery Communications.
